Insecurities in relationship has a negative impact not only on relationships but also on their Mental health. Pathetic part is many people not aware about their insecurities and think that it is quite common, and it is the personality of a particular human. Definitely not!! You can be able to overcome insecurities in relationship. Additionally, it is crucial for a healthy, long-lasting relationships and Mental Health & wellness. This article, I will share about symptoms, causes and strategies to overcome Insecurities in relationship.
Symptoms of Insecurities in Relationship:
Insecure means you are not sure, not confident and you have anxiety. Always living in the state of fear, doubt your own values and having low self-worth. So, what will happen, it reflects outside in your behaviors through your feelings.
- Not trusting your partner, always checking them where they are, what they are doing. Always verifying what they are telling.
- Always worrying that they are cheating on you without any relevant evidence.
- Seeking for validation and fishing compliments to feel secure.
- Doubt them when they are talking to their colleagues.
Causes of Insecurities in Relationship:
The main cause is “Lack of Self-esteem”. It is developed from the past traumatic factors and limited beliefs.
Unpleasant past:
You may be bullied at your schools or colleges for your outlook or financial status which in turn broke your confidence level.
Rejection or Mistreatment:
You may have a history of rejection in your romantic relationships, or you may had treated badly in your past relationships. This unresolved trauma makes you think about that you are not deserved to be loved. This limited beliefs in turn cause insecurities.
Lack of Self-awareness:
Not knowing about own self has tremendous problem in your own lives in which low self-esteem and projections develops. These two factors will ruin any relationship if not sorted out properly.

Reactive jealousy occurs when a person becomes aware of an actual threat or danger in relationship. Here insecurities are common, explore the situation and taking wise decision is enough.

Identify your triggering factors by practicing embodied self-awareness. What makes you feel insecure, explore the topics and situations. Ask “why” to find out the cause.
Stop Overthinking:
Overthinking is a culprit which makes you judge and label everything according to your own thoughts and feelings without any relevancy. Eventually it results in stress, doubts and lack of trust in relationship. So, stop overthinking. Here are the steps to stop overthinking.
Overcome Low self-esteem:
Finding your personal values helps you to overcome from low self-esteem. Think about a meaningful moment and evaluate why it is meaningful, explore your areas of frustration and evaluate the things which makes fulfilled. These steps help you to find out your personal values.
Healthy Communication:
Start communicating with your partner about how you feel, why you feel like this. Explain them assertively without triggering them. This helps you to overcome from your insecurities.
Create the environment for trust:
Everything should start from within. So don’t hide & don’t cheat. Just be open to your partner. Additionally, give them a personal space. Don’t poke anything which they are not sharing at present. Be patient and wait for the right moment.
Embrace energies:
Every male & female has both masculine and feminine energies. Some people have dominated masculine energies, and some has feminine energies in domination irrespective of gender. Identify your dominate energy and start embracing what you are lagging.
Masculine energy – Strong, problem solving, competitive, want to be appreciated
Feminine energy – Open, free, loving nature, want to be noticed and understood

Forgiving their past helps you to overcome from insecurities in relationship. Remember, mistakes are the part of shared humaneness. Accept everything, start forgiving your partner and move on

Self -love is a key to sort out all kind of issues. Start practicing self-love, it boosts you to know yourself, understand yourself, discover yourself and thus by helps in overcoming self-esteem and forgiving others.
